Cod 2 german d day mod4/1/2024 ![]() I am also Principial Investigator of the project ‘MMMMO-Mechthild’s Medieval Mystical Manuscripts Online’ (04/2021–03/2022), funded by the British Academy, which aims at visualizing the transmission of the Liber. I will hold Visiting Fellowships at the German Historical Institute in Rome (09/2021) and the Herzog August Bibliothek in Wolfenbüttel (07/2022–08/2022) for research on manuscripts. Currently, I am revising my thesis for publication as monograph (generously supported by the Covid Rebuilding Research Momentum Fund). Therefore, compared to other mystical texts, which are transmitted in much fewer manuscripts, one can actually ask - and try to answer - the question on how a specific mystical text was read in the Middle Ages and which perception the readership possessed of the text and its author. In my DPhil project, I looked at the Upper German reception of the Liber specialis gratiae by Mechthild of Hackeborn, a mystical text, which had been widely copied and circulated in the Late Middle Ages. I currently hold a Departmental Lectureship and act as Tutor for German at Somerville. (2019) which was funded by the AHRC and the Cusanuswerk. and a teaching diploma (‘Bayerisches Staatsexamen’) in German and History (2016). Afterwards, I went back to Eichstätt to finish both my M.A. in German and History at the Catholic University of Eichstätt (2014) and came to Oxford for my M.St. ![]()
